Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Data Center Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational integrity of our data center infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical support skills, proficiency with various operating systems and networking protocols, and excellent customer service abilities. This position offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and proactive problem-solving are essential. Duties Monitor data center hardware, servers, and network equipment to ensure continuous operation and identify potential issues proactively. Perform routine maintenance, hardware troubleshooting, and software diagnostics to minimize downtime. Support the deployment, configuration, and management of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and network devices. Assist with network troubleshooting tasks involving TCP/IP, DNS, LAN, VPNs, firewalls, and Active Directory management. Manage customer support tickets related to technical issues, providing timely resolution and clear communication. Support help desk systems by documenting incidents accurately and following escalation procedures when necessary. Conduct equipment troubleshooting for hardware failures or software malfunctions across various platforms. Assist in implementing IT infrastructure projects such as server upgrades or network enhancements. Collaborate with IT teams to ensure security protocols are followed, including GPO (Group Policy Objects) management and firewall configurations. Maintain detailed records of system configurations, maintenance activities, and incident reports. Experience Proven experience in IT support roles with a focus on data center operations or network administration. Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including
TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN
architecture. Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, Active Directory management, and desktop support. Familiarity with Linux and macOS operating systems for troubleshooting purposes. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot hardware issues related to servers, switches, routers, and other network devices. Experience using help desk systems for ticket management and customer support documentation. Proficiency in software troubleshooting across various applications and operating systems. Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with technical teams and end-users. Ability to analyze system logs and performance metrics to identify root causes of issues. Knowledge of security practices involving VPNs, firewalls, TCP protocols, and IT infrastructure protection. $20.00 - $30.86 per hour
