This role is responsible for translating business and technical requirements into executable infrastructure strategies, coordinating cross-functional engineering and operational teams, and maintaining control of scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of data center, network, security, compute, storage, virtualization, and disaster-recovery environments with senior-level program leadership. The position is best suited to an experienced infrastructure leader who can operate effectively in ambiguous environments, establish governance, challenge incomplete requirements, and guide programs from initial assessment and strategy through design, procurement, deployment, migration, commissioning, and operational handover. This closely reflects the candidate's demonstrated experience managing large data center portfolios, critical migrations, network and security architecture, and enterprise infrastructure programs.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Center Strategy and Program Leadership Lead end-to-end planning and execution of complex, multi-phase data center and critical-infrastructure programs. Develop data center consolidation, migration, modernization, capacity, resilience, and lifecycle strategies. Establish program objectives, delivery roadmaps, workstreams, milestones, dependencies, governance structures, and success criteria. Convert strategic requirements into executable project scopes, schedules, resource plans, budgets, and risk-management plans. Lead infrastructure assessments to evaluate current-state architecture, operational maturity, service resilience, capacity, technical debt, and business-continuity risks. Identify gaps between contracted scope, stated requirements, and discovered operational or technical needs. Evaluate program alternatives and clearly communicate cost, schedule, risk, operational, and technical tradeoffs to leadership. Maintain accountability for overall program performance while coordinating multiple projects, vendors, and technical disciplines. Data Center Design and Infrastructure Coordination Coordinate the development and review of high-level data center infrastructure architectures and design requirements. Ensure that compute, storage, virtualization, network, cybersecurity, facilities, cloud, and application requirements are incorporated into the overall solution. Facilitate technical alignment among data center architects, facilities engineers, network and security teams, platform teams, application owners, operations, and external consultants. Support active-active, primary-secondary, disaster-recovery, high-performance computing, and critical-production infrastructure strategies. Review design assumptions for availability, scalability, maintainability, redundancy, recoverability, capacity, and operational readiness. Identify infrastructure dependencies and integration requirements across network, security, compute, storage, application, and facility environments. Support the development of migration architectures, sequencing plans, coexistence strategies, rollback plans, and cutover requirements. The role does not replace the licensed architects or engineers responsible for detailed electrical, mechanical, structural, fire-protection, or code-compliance design. It provides technical program leadership and ensures that those disciplines are properly coordinated. Migration and Deployment Management Develop and govern migration frameworks for critical applications, infrastructure platforms, and data center services. Coordinate application discovery, dependency mapping, migration-wave planning, readiness reviews, cutover execution, rollback planning, and post-migration validation. Lead deployment planning for greenfield and brownfield data center environments. Ensure infrastructure, network, security, operations, facilities, and application teams are aligned before migration or production activation. Establish formal entry and exit criteria for design, build, testing, commissioning, migration, and operational handover phases. Track implementation defects, open risks, incomplete deliverables, and operational-readiness gaps through final closure. Coordinate business-continuity and disaster-recovery planning for critical services. The candidate's background includes leading active-active greenfield data center deployments, establishing migration processes for more than 10,000 critical applications, and managing major infrastructure programs with substantial budgets and extended delivery schedules. Network, Security, and Technology Integration Provide program-level oversight for enterprise data center network and security architecture. Coordinate LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, software-defined networking, routing, firewall, remote-access, and unified-communications workstreams. Ensure network and security designs meet availability, performance, segmentation, scalability, and operational-support requirements. Facilitate coordination of routing, failover, connectivity, authentication, access-control, and security-zone requirements. Ensure cybersecurity, governance, risk, and compliance requirements are incorporated into program planning and design decisions. Guide technical teams in evaluating infrastructure standards, technology lifecycles, automation opportunities, and future-state roadmaps. Commercial, Procurement, and Vendor Management Support the preparation, evaluation, clarification, and negotiation of RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, SOWs, and vendor proposals. Translate technical and operational requirements into clear procurement documentation and evaluation criteria. Coordinate technical due diligence of data center operators, consultants, contractors, technology suppliers, and managed-service providers. Evaluate vendor proposals for technical compliance, delivery risk, commercial assumptions, scalability, resilience, and operational suitability. Monitor vendor performance against contractual milestones, deliverables, service levels, and quality requirements. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, assumptions, change requests, and commercial risks before they affect delivery. Support contract negotiations and change-control discussions by providing documented technical and program-impact analysis. Governance, Risk, and Executive Communication Establish and maintain program governance, reporting, escalation, decision-making, and change-control processes. Maintain integrated RAID logs covering risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, and decisions. Track schedule, budget, scope, quality, resource capacity, benefits realization, and operational-readiness indicators. Prepare executive-level reports, decision papers, program dashboards, and recommendations. Clearly communicate complex technical issues to executive, business, operational, and nontechnical stakeholders. Escalate unresolved risks, scope conflicts, budget pressures, resource constraints, and delivery concerns in a timely manner. Facilitate steering committees, design reviews, readiness reviews, risk workshops, and executive decision meetings. Create consistent program-management processes and reusable organizational assets across portfolios and business units. The candidate has demonstrated experience developing governance frameworks, managing program changes and tradeoffs, coordinating subject-matter experts, and reporting schedule, budget, quality, and risk to senior leadership. Stakeholder and Team Leadership Build strong working relationships with CIOs, directors, senior managers, engineering leaders, application owners, operations teams, facilities organizations, procurement, finance, and external partners. Lead multidisciplinary teams without relying solely on direct reporting authority. Clarify roles, responsibilities, interfaces, decision rights, and escalation paths across program participants. Promote accountability, transparency, customer advocacy, continuous improvement, and high delivery standards. Mentor project managers, technical leads, analysts, and other program team members. Resolve conflicts constructively while protecting agreed program objectives, governance, and technical requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Ten or more years of progressive experience leading enterprise infrastructure, data center, network, cloud, or technology-transformation programs. Demonstrated experience managing large, complex, multi-year infrastructure programs involving multiple technical disciplines and stakeholder groups. Strong knowledge of data center architecture, enterprise network infrastructure, cybersecurity, compute, storage, virtualization, and disaster-recovery concepts. Experience leading data center consolidation, migration, modernization, greenfield, or major infrastructure deployment initiatives. Demonstrated ability to develop program strategies, scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, governance structures, and risk-management frameworks. Experience coordinating architects, engineers, facilities teams, operations personnel, application owners, vendors, and executive stakeholders. Experience managing program budgets, forecasts, commercial risks, and significant technology portfolios. Experience supporting or leading RFI, RFP, SOW, vendor-selection, and contract-scope activities. Strong executive communication, facilitation, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to travel domestically and internationally based on program requirements. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with active-active data center architectures and large-scale application migrations. Experience with high-performance computing and other business-critical infrastructure environments. Experience with Cisco networking, SD-WAN, software-defined networking, Palo Alto security platforms, BGP, OSPF, and enterprise remote-access solutions. Familiarity with IT service management, business continuity, disaster recovery, ERP, and infrastructure lifecycle management. Experience working with colocation providers, engineering consultants, general contractors, cloud providers, and managed-service organizations. PMP, PgMP, ITIL, TOGAF, CDCP, CDFOM, or comparable technical or program-management certification. Experience working in global, matrixed organizations. Experience managing programs valued at $100 million or more. Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $154,200 to $277,600 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation (10-15%).
