$24.45+ per hour (based on experience) SUMMARY Provide services in the area of data, information, communication and technology as one of the first points of contact for district employees. This position provides support to the staff and information systems under the direction of the Director of Digital Media, Innovation and Strategy, in coordination with other administrators. The Information Support Specialist 1 focuses on day-to-day technical support, data entry, and troubleshooting.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Other duties may be assigned Technical Support & User Assistance Provide technical support for end users (teachers, staff) for Infinite Campus and other learning applications/resources Troubleshoot and supports system access and user accounts under established procedures, including updating user privileges and roles Maintain a broad and current understanding of SIS capabilities and district policies Student Records & Enrollment Assist Registrar with Online Registration (OLR) and Census Data, including Processing and review student applications Link existing and merge duplicate persons within SIS Update addresses and contact information, coordination with schools as needed Serve as backup support for Registrar Date Entry & Integrity Perform accurate data entry in compliance with district standards, polices, and applicable laws and statutes Assist with data integrity checks and clean-up efforts as directed Maintain records and databases as required Reporting Assist with data reporting (Ad-Hoc), including exporting data from Infinite Campus with filtering and aggregation as directed Assist with State Reporting by resolving errors and warnings in SIS data through WiseData review. Training & Documentation Develop and deliver training for new and existing staff on Infinite Campus and related systems Create, maintain, and improve documentation including user guides and FAQs Identify training needs for support staff and provide or coordinate resources for professional development Collaborate on the development of periodic Admin Associate staff meetings Collaboration & Learning Work closely with Admin Associates and other data personnel to support data integrity Work in a team environment for training, support, and data validity Stay current on relevant system developments and participate in training opportunities Report urgent database and/or cybersecurity problems to the appropriate staff immediately Maintain records and document procedures and processes Maintain and create user accounts to ensure system securityQUALIFICATIONS
In addition to general computer proficiency, the following skills are required: Proficiency with spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets) Ability to work with PDF forms Strong attention to detail and communication skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Ability to follow established procedures and prioritize routine tasks Physical Requirement Ability to operate a variety of office and computer equipment such as scanners, telephone, fax, printers, copiers, etc. Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs in performing skilled movements such as rapid keyboard use. Ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Ability to recognize and identify similarities or differences between characteristics of colors, shapes, sounds, tastes, odors and textures associated with job-related objects, materials and tasks. Ability to type effectively. Mathematical Ability Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Ability to calculate percentages and decimals. Ability to create formula in spreadsheet and database functions. Ability to create graphs and flowcharts. Language Ability and Interpersonal Communication Ability to process, calculate, compute, summate and/or tabulate data and/or information. Includes the ability to perform subsequent action in relation to these computational operations Ability to persuade, convince, influence, train and monitor in favor of a desired outcome. Requires the ability to act as a lead person. Ability to utilize a wide variety of reference and descriptive data and information such as forms, memos, inventory records, computer reports, spreadsheets, meeting minutes and notices, charts, software operating manuals, regulations, correspondence and general operating manuals. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with district staff, principals, coordinators and consultants. Judgment and Situational Reasoning Ability Respects and maintains confidential information Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving troubleshooting and/or the evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.
