About the role As a Databricks Architect, you will make an impact by leading the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms, architecting modern Lakehouse solutions using Databricks while enabling business users with scalable reporting, self-service analytics, and actionable insights through BI platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Microsoft Fabric. You will be a valued member of the Data & Analytics team and work collaboratively with data engineers, BI developers, analysts, and business stakeholders. In this role, you will: Design enterprise-scale Lakehouse architectures using Databricks and Delta Lake, and define data platform strategies that align with business and analytics objectives. Lead migration initiatives from traditional data warehouses to modern cloud-native platforms, architecting batch, streaming, and real-time data processing solutions. Design scalable ETL/ELT frameworks using Databricks, PySpark, and Spark SQL, implementing Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) for data processing. Architect enterprise BI solutions using Power BI and Tableau, designing semantic models, data marts, and analytical datasets to enable self-service analytics. Serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology stakeholders, leading technical teams and conducting architecture reviews and technical governance sessions. Based on this role's business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Houston, Texas. The working arrangements for this role are accurate as of the date of posting. This may change based on the project you're engaged in, as well as business and client requirements. What you need to have to be considered 10+ years of experience in Data & Analytics solutions, including 5+ years of architecture experience in cloud-based data platforms. Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and Data Lakehouse architecture. Extensive experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and ETL/ELT design. Proven experience architecting enterprise reporting solutions in Tableau and Power BI. Strong stakeholder management and solution architecture experience. These will help you stand out Experience with Microsoft Fabric. Experience with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage. Experience mentoring technical teams and participating in pre-sales, solutioning, and estimation activities.
