Data Architect Location:
Bellaire, TX 77401
Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Architect to ensure a high level of data quality across the enterprise through the creation and management of sound data management processes. This individual is responsible for establishing metadata and registries, standardizing data naming, establishing consistent data definitions, associated business rules, and monitoring overall data quality. The Data Architect will sponsor the evaluation and selection of all infrastructure components (such as software) for data management systems. The Data Architect's role is to serve as a senior subject matter expert associated with content, processes, and procedures associated with Enterprise data acquisition and business intelligence plans. Prepares and participates in "deep dive" technical evaluation meetings, investigating processes to understand data and communications flow.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Architecture & Design:
Lead architecture/design/deployment and technical quality of enterprise solutions spanning multiple technologies; research and recommend tools/standards; enable synchronization of data across entry points; ensure new systems adhere to data management practices and policies; and lead data warehouse discussions on modeling/integration/solution design.
Data Integrity & Quality Management:
Create and implement data management strategy; enforce validation at point of entry; perform regular data audits tied to performance measures; coordinate mass data-cleansing initiatives; and apply continuous quality improvement practices.
Problem Analysis & Remediation:
Identify and resolve data quality issues (uniqueness, integrity, accuracy, consistency, completeness); determine root causes, implement solutions, and communicate findings; ensure PM/SDLC methods include deliverables required for high-quality data.
Required Skills:
SQL Qlik Health Catalyst Snowflake and EPIC is a plus
Required Qualifications:
7+ years experience in data warehouse/business intelligence and internet/client-server system
Skills:
A broad IT industry knowledge with depth in multiple areas including application development, servers, networks and databases; familiarity with various operating systems used by Health Plan data processing techniques and practices; a working knowledge of a variety of hardware and software environments; full understanding of architecting internet and client server systems; and full understanding of architecting integration and communications platforms. Process mapping, group presentation, written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to a stringent timeline. Ability to apply knowledge of how the industry uses IT to address business challenges using, for example, technical standards and infrastructure, cross-industry trends that impact IT investment, industry-specific roadmaps, and IT enablers.
Education:
Required
  • High School Diploma Preferred
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • computer science, business administration, healthcare administration or business or technology field
Required Experience:
Required
  • 7 years Seven (7) years of experience in data warehouse/business intelligence and internet/client server systems including: Three (3) years of RDBMS experience in data types, change control implications, performance optimization and full life cycle phase software development.
Additional Information:
This candidate will need to be within driving distance to the department; expenses will not be allowed. They will need to come in once a month. #OISH1
