Tetra Tech is currently seeking a motivated, articulate and dynamic, middle to senior level GIS Analyst to support our natural resources projects and programs. The successful candidate will have experience with GIS, cloud infrastructure, and computer science experience. They should be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting multiple projects in a team setting. A willingness to learn existing systems, templates, and workflows as well as improve these processes. This individual will be detail oriented and will be asked to manage extremely large datasets within the confines of stringent agreements with clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a variety of natural resources projects, with a primary focus on GIS analysis/mapping, GIS data management in a cloud system, and produce technical reports. The candidate will generally support senior-level staff with GIS analysis/mapping, report writing, and technical support.Essential Job Functions:
Candidate will be required to act as a GIS analyst for projects with an ecological services component and other duties as assigned. The successful candidate with appropriate work ethic for the industry and position will assist with environmental surveys, reporting, and permitting processes. Additionally, as required by the supervisor, the successful candidate will work overtime and/or weekends.Essential duties include the following:
Take complex ideas, convert them to User Experiences and visualize them in User Interfaces and workflow diagrams. Translate those ideas into actionable steps in an Agile Scrum technology focused work environment. Support Microsoft cloud infrastructure support like Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Azure SQL with SDE, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Apps and Functions. Support the development of SharePoint Sites with custom JavaScript Code inside iFrames and PowerApps. Write Python and JavaScript code for data management, QA/QC, and automation opportunities between GIS and Non-GIS applications as well as field mobile data collection apps. Identify and implement permission management in Azure, SharePoint, and OneDrive. Maintain and catalog field GPS and Mobile Data Collection equipment and protocol with a virtual Mobile Device Management system. Work directly with the Technical Services Manager, and with other project managers and personnel to support business tasks like: Assist in supporting the permitting of large-scale energy generation projects. Preparation of figures for permits. GIS analysis for above ground risk mitigation. Technical report writing. Data compilation and analysis for report writing, permit application preparation, and plant community mapping. Identify published sources and downloading of spatial data in support of natural resources projects. Set up, collect, download, and post-process GPS data from a wide range of sources.Required Qualifications:
B.A. or B.S in Geosciences, Geography, GIS, or similar field. 5+ years of experience in GIS applicable role that required GIS to be used more than 50% of the work week. 1+ year Azure Cloud experience. Basic working knowledge of computer science and its application to Python, JavaScript, and git repo management. A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with state regulations is required. Must possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record without restrictions.Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in GIS. Geographer or Equivalent. 10+ years experience. Proposal Support. Work Environment /Environmental Factors:
