A GIS Analyst gathers data that can be used in geographic information system (GIS) maps or products. Gathers data from existing maps and reports; gathers information on people, plants, animals, buildings, natural terrain and elevation.
We are looking for a GIS Architect to design and support enterprise GIS architecture, with strong experience in spatial databases, infrastructure, networking, security, and enterprise systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across GIS technology, databases, cloud/infrastructure, security, and enterprise architecture while working with technical and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Design and maintain enterprise GIS architecture and technical solutions. Define architecture for spatial databases, GIS servers, networking, storage, and integrations. Evaluate and optimize GIS database and infrastructure performance. Support GIS security, governance, DR, and business continuity requirements. Develop automation and integrations using Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, and related technologies. Work with technical teams to ensure GIS solutions align with enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements and develop solutions. Support Agile delivery, SDLC activities, architecture reviews, and technical documentation.
Requirements:
Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise GIS architecture. Strong knowledge of spatial databases and RDBMS technologies, including: Oracle SQL Server PostgreSQL/PostGIS Similar spatial database platforms. Experience with GIS servers, networking, load balancing, storage, and infrastructure. Experience with Python, JavaScript, REST APIs, or similar technologies for scripting and automation. Understanding of security architecture, governance, and enterprise security frameworks. Experience with disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP). Experience working with Agile methodologies and SDLC processes. Understanding of enterprise architecture governance. Strong consulting, stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
