Open Until Filled Employment Opportunity This is a non-benefitted position responsible for assisting full-time personnel in the Public Works Department. The responsibilities of this position will be to create and assist in mapping information of Public Works assets. The employee will be responsible for updating feature class and table attributes as well as the geometry of gis data and performing other GIS tasks as assigned. This will require analysis, planning, report writing, walking, lifting, speaking with the public, and critical thinking. Performs other duties as assigned. Can start immediately after approval. Qualifications Applicants must have some experience in GIS, planning, or related fields, and seeking a future in the GIS field. Must feel comfortable making and using paper and digital maps, querying databases, performing attribute and spatial joins, and data entry. Must be comfortable doing GPS work in the field. Requires a valid Utah driver license and have a good driving record. Must be physically able to do a lot of walking in all kinds of weather. Must be able to communicate effectively both written and orally. Desktop, Excel, Tablet, and ArcGIS knowledge are required. The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background investigation. Pay and Benefits $14.28 - $21.42 per hour depending upon qualifications.
SALARY WILL GENERALLY START AT LOWER END OF THE SALARY RANGE.
