Overview The Senior Technical Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical oversight, and operational project management support to enable the successful implementation, tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) programs. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, program teams, and Information Technology organizations to ensure business needs are translated into scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions. The day-to-day responsibilities of The Senior Technical Manager include overseeing all aspects of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, including workflow automation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), reporting, and dashboards. The Senior Technical Manager also collaborates with program teams to optimize the Captures database, drive operational efficiency and project processing, improve user experience, and support strategic business objectives. The position is responsible for managing a portfolio of technology initiatives, ensuring quality delivery of solutions, mentoring technical resources, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement across EERE programs. Responsibilities
- Oversee and Maintain CRM database and optimization capabilities
- Including workflows, RPA, Businesses Rules
- Develop Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) to support database upgrades and enhancements to IT team
- Evaluate business processes and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology and automation
- Manage multiple concurrent technology projects and initiatives from concept through implementation, and deliver results on schedule
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, requirements, schedules, budgets, and resource needs.
- Oversee data imports, exports, migrations, mass updates, and integration activities, while ensuring data is accurate and supports data driven decisions
- Ensure system enhancements are tested, documented, and deployed in accordance with established change management procedures.
- Support user access management, security administration, and system governance activities
- Automate everyday business functions such as reporting and project processing
- Partner with program leadership and business users to gather, document, prioritize, and manage business requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, vendors, and external partners.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, user acceptance testing, and solution demonstrations.
- Establish and maintain quality standards for technology solutions, project deliverables, and system implementations.
- Conduct quality reviews of requirements, designs, configurations, reports, and technical documentation.
- Oversee issue management, deployment activities, testing processes, and production support procedures
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to technical and business team members
- Foster collaboration across business and technology organizations
- Assist with proposal development, scope definition, budget planning, and resource forecasting for strategic initiatives
- Identify opportunities to expand and enhance technology capabilities that support organizational growth and operational excellence
- Ensure data accuracy, validity and compliance with program requirements and best practices
- Ensure projects are completed on time, tested completely, and within budget
- Analyze day-to-day team processes and identify areas for streamline and improvement Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 6-10 years of experience managing business applications, technology solutions, or enterprise systems.
- Experience leading technology projects and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, business process improvement, database management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
- Experience supporting Energy Efficiency, Renewable Energy, Utility, and/or Customer Services programs.
- Experience with Robotic Process Automation platforms including Automation Anywhere and Microsoft Power Automate.
- Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid project management methodologies.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong focus on customer service, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of program operations, regulatory requirements, and business processes related to energy efficiency and renewable energy programs preferred.
Location and Office Requirements:
- The TRC team supporting the PSEG Long Island Contract is located in Melville NY
- The position will be primarily working from the TRC Melville office.
