Project Manager - Retail Pharmacy Implementation (Healthcare IT Required)

Healthcare IT / Pharmacy Systems We are seeking an experienced Healthcare IT Project Manager to lead the implementation of a new on‑campus Retail Pharmacy system . This is a high‑impact role supporting a critical modernization initiative launching October/November 2026. Candidates must have direct healthcare IT project management experience . If you do not have hospital or healthcare IT experience, please do not apply . Position Overview The Project Manager will oversee scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and cross‑functional coordination for the full pharmacy system implementation. This includes infrastructure setup, system configuration, workflow alignment, staff training, and go‑live support. Key Responsibilities Lead medium to large‑scale IT projects from initiation through closure Define and manage project scope; control scope changes Build and maintain project schedules and timelines Monitor project budget and cost allocations Coordinate resources across clinical pharmacy, IT infrastructure, and vendor teams Facilitate meetings and produce clear meeting notes and status updates Maintain detailed project documentation (requirements, timelines, risks, decisions) Identify and mitigate project risks proactively Support system configuration, workflow validation, training, and go‑live activities Required Qualifications 5+ years project management experience 3+ years leading medium to large‑scale IT projects Proven ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, resources, and dependencies Strong facilitation and communication skills Ability to operate in fast‑paced, dynamic environments Healthcare IT systems experience required Preferred Qualifications PMP certification Experience with Epic EHR implementations or deployments Experience with pharmacy systems ( Epic Willow strongly preferred ) Infrastructure and clinical IT project experience Background in hospital or healthcare organizations Technical / Domain Knowledge Healthcare IT infrastructure projects Epic EHR systems (or similar enterprise healthcare systems) Pharmacy management systems (Willow preferred) Project management methodologies and tools HIPAA and healthcare compliance requirements Personal Attributes Highly organized and detail‑oriented Proactive problem‑solver Collaborative team player Adaptable to changing requirements Strong decision‑making ability under pressure Professional presence in virtual/remote environments Project Context This role supports a major pharmacy modernization initiative with go‑live targeted for October/November 2026 . The position is a temporary contract covering a maternity leave through January 4, 2027 .
