Job Description

We are looking for an IT Project Manager to oversee infrastructure-focused initiatives within an education environment in San Marcos, Texas. This role will guide projects from initial planning through delivery, while partnering with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to keep work organized and aligned with institutional goals. The ideal candidate brings strong business analysis skills, clear communication, and the ability to turn complex technical needs into practical, well-managed project plans.
Responsibilities:
  • Direct technology initiatives across the entire project lifecycle, from scope definition and planning through execution, rollout, and completion.
  • Build and maintain detailed project roadmaps that track timelines, major milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and overall status.
  • Partner with internal departments, technical specialists, suppliers, and third-party providers to coordinate work and keep projects moving forward.
  • Identify project issues early, assess constraints related to resources or timing, and implement corrective actions to reduce disruption.
  • Gather and document operational and technical requirements, ensuring stakeholder expectations are understood and validated before execution begins.
  • Lead discussions with business and technical participants to establish goals, define success measures, and support informed decision-making.
  • Evaluate existing workflows, uncover process gaps, and recommend improvements that increase efficiency and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support infrastructure and enterprise technology efforts by assisting with planning, testing, deployment, transition activities, and readiness for ongoing operations.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear updates and recommendations for project sponsors and non-technical stakeholders.
