Job Description

Overview ResourceTek is the Human Capital division of Barge Design Solutions, a multi-discipline Engineering and Architecture firm. We specialize in providing technical recruitment and staffing services to industry and government in all areas of Engineering, Information Technology, and a broad range of other Technical disciplines. In partnership with our client, a global leader in metals manufacturing, we are seeking a skilled Automation and Electrical Professional to support and improve operational performance through effective troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project execution. This role partners closely with engineering, construction, maintenance, operations teams, OEMs, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve shared business objectives. The ideal candidate takes ownership of automation and electrical issues, driving them to timely and effective resolution while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. Success in this position requires strong analytical decision-making abilities, excellent organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this individual will leverage strong written and verbal communication skills to provide technical guidance and deliver training programs that enhance the capabilities of maintenance and operations Responsibilities Lead automation engineering activities for the Complex II EAF/Caster Project, from concept and FEED through detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and final acceptance Provide automation engineering leadership for EAF, Caster, FES, Water Systems, and associated auxiliary equipment and processes Participate in engineering, construction, installation, integration, testing, commissioning, and startup of steelmaking and caster automation systems Provide technical support and consultation to management in Level 1 and Level 2 electrical and automation disciplines Coordinate engineering activities supporting the implementation of automation system and equipment modifications, upgrades, and improvements Perform technical analysis, develop proposals and alternatives, support cost estimates, and coordinate factory testing and commissioning activities Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering with 10 years of relevant industrial experience, or a Trade School Diploma with 20 years of relevant industrial experience, preferably in steelmaking, heavy industrial, manufacturing, or large-scale capital projects Experienced in electrical automation, controls, manufacturing, commissioning, or service for industrial automation systems and working on large-scale steel industry capital projects from concept through commissioning Experience with automation systems in heavy industrial environments; steelmaking and caster experience preferred; with Level 1 / Level 2 software programming and troubleshooting experience Experience coordinating engineering, construction, maintenance, operations, OEMs, and contractors| #
