Job Description

Description We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to support enterprise network operations and infrastructure projects in Deer Park, Illinois. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working across production and data center environments, combining technical troubleshooting with hands-on deployment work. The role will focus on maintaining reliable connectivity, improving network performance, and contributing to site-based infrastructure initiatives in a fast-moving setting.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and support enterprise network environments that include Cisco-based routing, switching, firewall, and data center technologies.
  • Perform physical network deployment tasks such as installing equipment, racking hardware, connecting cabling, and completing patching activities within data center spaces.
  • Diagnose and resolve network performance and connectivity problems across routers, switches, and security platforms to minimize operational disruption.
  • Assist with infrastructure projects involving hardware upgrades, network expansion efforts, and data center relocation or migration activities.
  • Coordinate implementation windows and cutover activities to ensure changes are executed accurately and with limited downtime.
  • Configure and support core networking functions including VLANs, routing protocols, switching operations, and secure traffic handling practices.
  • Work closely with project teams and technical stakeholders to deliver network changes within demanding timelines and project schedules. Requirements
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale enterprise Cisco networking environments.
  • Hands-on background with Cisco routers, Cisco switching, and broader Cisco networking technologies.
  • Experience working with Palo Alto Firewall and Cisco ASA security platforms.
  • Knowledge of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), TCP/IP networking, VLAN configuration, and routing and switching principles.
  • Practical experience with data center hardware installation, rack-and-stack work, structured cabling, and patch management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues and support cutovers in high-pressure project environments.
  • Familiarity with network security standards and operational best practices in enterprise infrastructure settings.
