An established and highly respected automation systems integrator is seeking a Controls Engineer to join its growing team in St. Louis. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced automation professionals, lead impactful projects, and develop solutions that improve the performance, efficiency, and reliability of industrial operations across a variety of industries.
If you enjoy a mix of engineering design, programming, client interaction, and commissioning, this role offers the chance to take ownership of projects from concept through startup while continuing to expand your technical expertise.
What You'll DoAs a Controls Engineer, you'll play a key role in delivering automation and process control solutions for industrial clients. You'll be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, including:
Collaborating with clients to understand operational challenges and define project requirements.
Participating in feasibility studies, budgeting exercises, and technical scoping efforts.
Designing complete control system architectures, including PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, networking, and industrial computing infrastructure.
Developing PLC applications, with an emphasis on Rockwell Automation platforms.
Designing and configuring HMI and SCADA systems using technologies such as FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware/System Platform, and related platforms.
Creating electrical control panel designs, schematics, and instrumentation specifications.
Developing data collection, historian, and analytics solutions for process optimization.
Performing system testing, startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
Supporting project managers to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and according to client expectations.
Providing technical expertise and recommendations regarding emerging automation technologies and industry trends.

What We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
Knowledge of process control principles and control system architecture.
Experience developing
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
Willingness to travel for project meetings, startup, and commissioning activities.
Preferred ExperienceRockwell Automation programming and development.
FactoryTalk View SE/ME and View Designer.
Ignition SCADA Platform.
Wonderware InTouch or System Platform.
Control panel design and electrical schematics.
Industrial networking and communication protocols.
Historian systems and operational analytics solutions.
Compensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary of $75,000 - $120,000 depending on experience.
