This is a direct hire Automation Engineer opportunity supporting controls and drives work for custom automated machinery near North Syracuse, NY. Schedule Full time, onsite in North Syracuse, NY. Straight time pay applies for any hours worked over 45 in a given week. The role requires approximately 30% travel, including domestic and occasional international trips. Compensation $95,000 to $110,000 base salary, plus a bonus plan. What You'll Do This role covers controls software development, including PLC programming in ladder logic and function block diagrams, HMI development, PLC network architecture, and AC/DC drive configuration alongside legacy controls integration. The Automation Engineer also handles testing and commissioning work, including system testing and validation, machine startup and commissioning, and remote or onsite troubleshooting and technical support. On the engineering and project support side, responsibilities include technical documentation and reporting, providing technical support for sales and application studies, and collaborating across teams and directly with customers throughout project execution.
