JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Network Architect will be responsible for providing strategic oversight of enterprise network technologies, integrations, and security standards across cloud and on-premises environments. This role will lead the design, evaluation, and governance of complex network architectures with a focus on performance, scalability, reliability, security, resiliency, and automation. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise networking, network security, cloud connectivity, and architectural leadership while ensuring the safety and soundness of the organization's technology infrastructure.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide architectural oversight and technical governance for enterprise network platforms and technology integrations.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available network architectures across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Lead enterprise-level network architecture initiatives, modernization programs, and infrastructure transformation projects.
- Evaluate existing network environments and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Establish and maintain network security standards, best practices, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Design and implement network solutions that support business continuity, resiliency, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Ensure network architectures align with enterprise security, risk management, and compliance objectives.
- Provide expertise in network protocols, cryptography, routing, switching, segmentation, and secure communications.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams to support enterprise technology initiatives.
- Lead architectural reviews for new technologies, integrations, and infrastructure changes.
- Support change management processes and evaluate technology risks associated with network changes.
- Develop network automation strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual processes.
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, standards, policies, procedures, diagrams, and technical roadmaps.
- Monitor emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a technical advisor and subject matter expert for network architecture, security, and infrastructure design decisions.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of broad experience supporting, maintaining, and managing enterprise networking platforms within complex business and technical environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience designing, leading, and owning enterprise-level network architectural initiatives and technology transformations.
- Strong experience with enterprise network design, implementation, administration, and governance.
- Expertise in network protocol design, implementation, and operational support.
- Strong knowledge of cryptography, secure communications, and network security best practices.
- Experience supporting IT risk management, change management, information security administration, and network operations.
- Strong understanding of network architecture principles across both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Experience developing and maintaining technology standards, policies, procedures, metrics, and governance documentation.
- Expert-level technical knowledge in: o Network Architecture o Network Security o Network Design o Enterprise Infrastructure o Network Implementation o Network Resiliency o Network Automation
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with hybrid cloud networking architectures.
- Experience designing large-scale enterprise WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, and data center environments.
- Experience supporting multi-cloud networking solutions across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust network architecture principles.
- Experience with network performance optimization and capacity planning.
- Experience leading network modernization, segmentation, and security transformation initiatives.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and network automation solutions.
- Experience working within highly regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, insurance, or government.
- Experience mentoring engineering teams and participating in enterprise architecture governance boards.
CERTIFICATIONS
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferred.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) preferred.
- Juniper Networks Certification (Preferred).
- Arista Certified Engineering Associate (ACE-A) or equivalent preferred.
- Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) Certification preferred.
- AWS Advanced Networking Specialty preferred.
- Microsoft Azure Network Engineer Associate preferred.
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
