The Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of Rockland Trust's enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and network security technologies. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, performance, availability, and security of the Bank's network environment across corporate offices, branch locations, remote sites, and data centers. Working closely with IT and Information Security teams, the Network Engineer will troubleshoot complex network issues, implement infrastructure enhancements, support business continuity initiatives, and help maintain a secure and scalable network environment. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. Responsibilities As a Network Engineer, you will leverage your networking expertise to maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot network infrastructure across corporate offices, branch locations, remote sites, and data centers.
  • Configure, install, and support network devices and services, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and Network Access Control (NAC) solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to routing, switching, servers, telephony systems, and LAN/WAN connectivity.
  • Perform system upgrades, firmware updates, and patching of network appliances as appropriate.
  • Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability using network monitoring and diagnostic tools (e.g., PRTG, Gigamon, Riverbed).
  • Adhere to established configuration and change management processes to ensure network stability and compliance.
  • Support the implementation of security tools, policies, and procedures in partnership with the Information Security team.
  • Respond to and resolve escalated Help Desk ticket.
