Job Description

We are hiring a Network Operations Engineer and a Senior Network Operations Engineer to start immediately for a leading IT Company in La Mirada, CA. These two are Direct Hire position, salary range from 70k to 95k/year depending on the level of relevant experience During the initial training stage, you will be working 5 days 8 hours per day, this phrase can last from 3 months up to 1 year depending on how soon you pick up the skills; after onboarding training stage, you will transit to 4 days a week, 10 hours per day. You need to be open to all shifts - day shift (typicallys starts at 6 AM), Swing Shift (typically starts at 12 PM), graveyard shift (8 PM) this is a hybrid on site position, every first 2 weeks of the month you will be working in the La Mirada office, 100%, the rest of the months will be working at home Ideal experience:
BGP, MPLS
Routing, Layer 3 protocals, DWDM, etc. Need someone who is go getter, strive to learn, solid network fundamental knowledge Majority of the networking equipment are Juniper, and mixed with Cisco, so either experience will be fine For Senior Engineer, we are looking for several years of experience with advanced routing concepts, not just layer 2 enterprise VLANS and device cabling, similar ISP BGP experience is strongly preferred!
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
1. Communicate effectively with team members through ticket entries, daily check-in calls, and Slack channels 2. Communicate effectively via phone and email with network contacts and vendors. 3. Prioritize multiple demanding events along with daily tasks. 4. Exercise sound judgment when handling issues and responding to associates. 5. Willingness to work any shift (including weekends), as assigned, and to rotate shifts and schedules as assigned. 6. Work independently to develop solutions adhering to policies and procedures. 7. Able to perform risk assessment and mitigation to avoid negative impacts. 8. Continuous open collaboration with teammates and other members in the organization. 9. Uphold the mission and values of Network Operations and the Company. 10. Ability to consider, understand and prioritize security (and privacy, where applicable) principles, practices, and procedures in all aspects of your role with the Company
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. 2 years in a network operations environment in support of customer networks OR 2. 2 years in a technical support role interacting with contacts via phone and ticketing system AND 3. Hands-on experience with live production Cisco and Juniper network devices 4. Administer and configure Cisco and Juniper routers/switches, implement firmware changes, OS releases and other software upgrades. 5. Troubleshoot router/network performance problems on a live production network 6. Troubleshoot circuit problems for commercially lit services and self-lit dark fiber services 7. Prepare announcements for maintenance activities or network outages 8. Understanding of network security, secure configuration of network devices, and the use of network devices to secure networks of computing systems, including configuring and maintaining ACLs, knowledge of firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. 9. Experience with installing, upgrading, and securing network equipment and services
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Cisco CCNP certification 2. Direct experience in network configuration, management, and operations 3. Experience with optical transmission systems such as DWDM 4. Experience working with advanced routing protocols such as BGP 5. Working knowledge of MPLS-SR and L2VPNs 6.
