Controls Engineer Position Summary The Controls Engineer will support the design, programming, installation, and troubleshooting of industrial automation systems for liquid and solid separation equipment. This role involves PLC/HMI programming, control system upgrades, commissioning, and field support. Responsibilities + Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI control systems, primarily using Rockwell platforms. + Support installation, commissioning, and startup of automation and control system upgrades. + Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks, including Modbus. + Work with VFDs, motor controls, sensors, instrumentation, and electrical control systems. + Diagnose and resolve automation and controls issues in industrial environments. + Develop project documentation and collaborate with customers and internal teams. Qualifications + 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls, or process systems. + Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs and HMIs. + Knowledge of motor controls, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial networks. + Proficiency with Rockwell Automation software and hardware. + Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications + Experience with additional PLC platforms. + Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems. + Experience with custom control system design and process equipment. + Field service, startup, and commissioning experience. Work Environment This role includes a combination of office-based engineering work and travel to industrial customer sites for installation, startup, and troubleshooting activities. PPE and site-specific safety requirements apply. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington, TX.
