Resume Cover letter References (minimum of three) Purpose of Position Network Engineer I provides foundational technical and administrative support for the university's enterprise network, with a strong emphasis on Layer 1/2 networking technologies within the campus environment. The role also includes exposure to cloud-based routing in platforms such as Azure and AWS (Amazon Web Services). Essential Functions Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and support of a high-availability network, focusing on Layer 1 cabling, Layer 2 switching, and VLAN configurations. Troubleshoot and resolve network-related incidents, including working with departments via ServiceNow to document and address issues. Support the configuration, management, and maintenance of the university's wired and wireless infrastructure. Provide technical assistance for network projects, system upgrades, and new installations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless network operations. Assist in the development and maintenance of network documentation, policies, and best practices. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, one (1) year of full-time experience working in enterprise-class networks, JNCIA-Junos, JNCIA Mist AI, JNCIA-Cloud, JNCIA-DevOps, CCNA, etc. certifications, or three (3) years of any equivalent combination of education, experience and training. Three (3) years of acceptable driving history. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Networking, or related discipline.
