Job Duties Performs maintenance of file servers and network devices including the restoration of hardware and software. Anticipates and mitigates potential attacks through network or other connections to ensure the security of the system. Works with end users and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues. May develop and administer end-user training to achieve efficient utilization of LAN/WAN. Reviews progress and evaluate results.
Technical Skills:
eSOMS/eTagout- Assists in creating and deploying a stand-alone tagout system. Expected to help provision, configure and network sever/client laptops. LAN Migrations
- Performs the entry level duties to support the lead engineer. These included assisting with initial configuration of the server and NAS unit hardware, connecting devices to the ship's network, configuring and connecting tempLAN network switches and UCK routers. Has a general understanding and familiarity of hypervisor software (VMWare, ESXi, Hyper-V) Media type connections
- Expected to have the baseline capability of creating custom Cat5e/6 cabling to support varied applications. Troubleshooting
- Performs basic level troubleshooting with general understanding of switching networks, routing protocols and the OSI model. Expected to perform basic layer 1 troubleshooting and ping tests and consults migration lead engineer for guidance. Network Types

Learning Daily Status Reports Requirements:
DoW Security Clearance Requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Security+ CE Certification Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Network Engineering, or Technology Engineering Must have extensive knowledge of the Internet, computer, routers, switches,firewall, etc. Detailed knowledge of networking systems such as LAN, firewalls, routers, servers, and printers Hold active clearance or eligible or clearance.
