Full Job Description Overview:
Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide Windows server support for the Air Force Intranet Control (AFINC) III Support program at Maxwell AFB/Gunter Annex. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
Develop backup and recovery plans, create/modify reports/processes/procedures, monitor system health, optimize system performance, proactively fix issues, identify and resolve network anomalies, conduct trends and analysis, and test/validate backups with quarterly restores. Perform annual DISA STIGs compliance checks on all servers and installed software. Notify appropriate Information Technical Equipment Custodian (ITEC) or Property Custodian (PC) for all accountable item moves. Bundle and conceal all excess system or peripheral cabling after each installation or repair.
Qualifications:
5+ years experience in systems administration. HS diploma or GED. Must be Security+ certified. Must hold one of the following certifications:
Veritas Certified Specialist:
VCS-282: Veritas NetBackup 9.1 Administrator; VCS-283: Veritas NetBackup 9.1 and NetBackup Appliance 4.1 Administrator; or VCS-326: Administration of Veritas Backup Exec 21 exam. Extensive experience with Veritas NetBackup, SAN attached storage, VADP (VMWare) and NDMP configurations, tape libraries, Windows and Linux operating systems, physical and virtual systems, and other enterprise level backup hardware/software. Experience with bare metal restores is required. Excellent communication skills, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
