Sonoma County Library is seeking a skilled and service-oriented Information Technology Specialist / Network Administrator to support the technology infrastructure that enables exceptional library services for staff and the community. The ideal candidate will be an experienced IT professional with expertise in network administration, security, systems support, and troubleshooting, along with a strong commitment to customer service, problem-solving, and delivering reliable technology solutions that meet the needs of Sonoma County Library staff and the communities we serve. In addition to supporting existing technology systems, the ideal candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, and implementation of technology infrastructure for upcoming library construction, renovation, and capital improvement projects, including the new Library Headquarters facility and future library renovations. This includes collaborating with library stakeholders, contractors, and project teams to ensure that network, telecommunications, wireless, security, and technology infrastructure requirements are integrated into building designs and support the Library's long-term operational and service goals. ABOUT THE POSITION
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager, the Information Technology Specialist / Network Administrator serves as a technical specialist responsible for the design, administration, security, and ongoing support of the library's technology infrastructure. This position provides excellent customer service while overseeing network systems, servers, and related hardware and software. The Information Technology Specialist / Network Administrator plans, designs, tests, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains complex computer networks and systems; supports technology projects and upgrades; and evaluates and recommends improvements. The position plays a key role in ensuring dependable technology services for library operations, staff productivity, and public access to information. The position also serves as a technical lead and subject matter expert for technology infrastructure associated with new construction and facility improvement projects. Responsibilities include participating in facility planning and design meetings; developing network, structured cabling, wireless, and telecommunications requirements; reviewing architectural and engineering plans; coordinating with vendors and contractors; and ensuring that new facilities are designed with scalable, secure, and resilient technology systems that support current and future library services. Pay:
$99,486.40 - $124,280.00 per year
