POSITION SUMMARY ATMUP
is seeking an experienced and dependable ATM Service Technician II to join our field operations team. This is a hands-on hybrid position that combines Level II ATM service and repair responsibilities with significant ATM cash-loading responsibilities. Candidates should understand that cash loading is a major and ongoing function of this position. The ATM Service Technician II will regularly service a cash-loading route, replenish ATMs, manage cash and related documentation, and ensure machines are balanced, secure, clean, and operational. This is not a service-only technician position. At the same time, this role requires the technical knowledge and experience of a Level II ATM Service Technician. While performing cash-loading routes and other field duties, the technician must be capable of independently diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining ATMs at a Level II capacity. When an ATM on the route—or elsewhere within the technician's assigned territory—requires service, the technician is expected to address the issue within their technical capabilities rather than simply identifying or escalating routine service needs. The ATM Service Technician II will diagnose and resolve both minor and more advanced hardware and software issues, replace components, perform preventive maintenance, program and install ATMs, install and program locks, relocate or remove equipment, and support other ATM-related technology as assigned. Technicians travel to customer locations in a company-provided vehicle and are responsible for providing both secure, accurate cash replenishment and high-quality technical service during the same field operation. Because our technicians represent ATMUp directly in the field, the ideal candidate is hardworking, technically skilled, security-conscious, detail-oriented, professional with customers, and comfortable managing a demanding route that includes both cash loading and Level II ATM service responsibilities.
ABOUT ATMUP
ATMUp is a full-service ATM provider and one of the fastest-growing ATM ISOs in the nation. Our growth is driven by our multifaceted services, flexible ATM programs, and commitment to providing customers with dependable service and support. Learn more at ATM-Up.com.
OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform regular and high-volume ATM cash loading as a core responsibility of the position, including replenishing cash and media, following all required security procedures, and completing accurate cash-loading documentation. Maintain responsibility for an assigned cash-loading/service route and complete scheduled stops accurately, securely, and efficiently. Provide Level II ATM service and technical support throughout the assigned territory while continuing to perform regular cash-loading responsibilities. Independently diagnose and resolve ATM hardware and software issues in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and ATMUp procedures. Troubleshoot error codes, identify failed components, determine appropriate corrective action, and complete field repairs within Level II capabilities. Address technical issues discovered during cash-loading stops whenever possible, helping reduce repeat visits and ATM downtime. Replace faulty components, update software, clear errors, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure continued ATM operation. Follow schematics, manufacturer documentation, technical manuals, and troubleshooting procedures to complete repairs and installations. Program, install, replace, relocate, and remove ATMs as required. Install and program ATM locks and other security-related components. Support and maintain digital signage, kiosks, Bitcoin machines, and other equipment as assigned. Safely operate company vehicles while traveling between customer locations and assigned service areas. Ensure ATMs are funded, functional, secure, clean, and presentable before leaving each customer location. Maintain detailed documentation of cash replenishments, troubleshooting, repairs, parts used, and work performed. Prepare and maintain cash replenishment records and other required reporting for management and clients. Monitor machine performance and identify recurring technical issues that require additional corrective action. Maintain and organize company tools, service parts, equipment, and field inventory to support operational readiness. Maintain the inventory, organization, security, and cleanliness of the assigned company vehicle. Follow all ATMUp cash-handling, security, chain-of-custody, and field-service protocols. Communicate professionally with merchants, clients, customers, dispatch, management, and technical support. Explain ATM functionality and assist merchants with appropriate operational or transaction-related questions when needed. Collaborate with other technicians and operational team members to improve service levels, route efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Assist with onboarding, field training, and technical development of newer Service Technicians. Perform other duties as assigned.
CORE EXPECTATION OF THE ROLE
The successful candidate must be comfortable performing both sides of this position every day:
Cash Loading:
Safely and accurately replenishing ATMs will remain a significant part of the technician's regular workload and route responsibilities.
Level II Technical Service:
The technician must possess the experience and technical capability to independently service, troubleshoot, repair, program, and maintain ATMs at a Level II standard. Being hired as a Level II Technician does not eliminate or reduce the cash-loading responsibilities of the position. ATMUp operates a flexible field model, and technicians are expected to provide technical service while supporting the cash-loading needs of their assigned territory.
COMPETENCIES
Demonstrated Level II ATM troubleshooting and repair capabilities with the ability to independently diagnose and resolve field-service issues. Strong mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude. Ability to navigate ATM menu-management functions, diagnostics, error codes, and programming. Ability to identify ATM models, components, and common technical failures. Strong understanding of ATM cash-loading procedures and secure cash-handling practices. Ability to balance technical service responsibilities with a high-volume cash-loading route. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to determine when an issue can be resolved in the field and when additional escalation or support is required. Effective communication and customer-service skills when interacting with merchants, clients, dispatch, management, and technical support. Exceptional organization, route management, and time-management skills. Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, written instructions, and manufacturer documentation. Proficiency with smartphones, navigation systems, field-service applications, and related technology. Ability to work independently while consistently following company security and operational protocols. Dependability and accountability when handling company cash, equipment, vehicles, tools, and customer assets. Ability to train and support newer technicians on operational and technical best practices. Physical capability to install, remove, relocate, service, and secure ATM equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Technical school training is a plus. Minimum of four (4) years of ATM service technician experience or comparable ATM field-service experience preferred. Demonstrated experience performing Level II ATM troubleshooting, diagnostics, component replacement, programming, and repair. Experience with ATM cash loading, cash management, CIT, armored-car operations, or comparable secure cash-handling responsibilities. Candidate must be willing and able to perform significant ongoing cash-loading duties in addition to Level II technical service work. Valid firearms permit or ability to meet all applicable licensing, training, and regulatory requirements associated with the position. Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor environments and different weather conditions. Ability to lift and move 50 pounds or more. Ability to move equipment weighing 100 pounds or more with an appliance dolly or other approved equipment. Ability to safely use hand and power tools. Ability to stand, squat, kneel, bend, and sit for extended periods. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with ATM servicing, installation, removal, and cash replenishment.
COMMITMENT TO DIVERSITY
As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, ATMUp recognizes that a diverse staff reflective of our community is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business. ATMUp hires local talent at all levels without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics and actively fosters inclusion within our company and throughout our interactions with clients, candidates, and partners.
