Junior to Mid-Level (3+ Years) Position Summary The Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the daily operations, maintenance, monitoring, and administration of server, storage, virtualization, and core network infrastructure. This role provides technical support for Active Directory, backup and recovery systems, VMware/Hyper-V environments, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure components. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, foundational networking knowledge, experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, and a desire to grow into a senior infrastructure role. Key Responsibilities Support day-to-day administration of Windows server and infrastructure environments. Configure, maintain, and support virtual servers in VMware and/or Hyper-V environments. Perform system patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation activities. Monitor server, storage, and network health using enterprise monitoring tools. Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations. Participate in disaster recovery testing and documentation efforts. Administer Active Directory users, groups, organizational units, and security permissions. Assist with Group Policy administration and troubleshooting.
Configure and support:
DNS DHCP DFS
Certificates Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and infrastructure-related incidents. Assist with switch, wireless access point, and cabling deployments. Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration records. Manage incidents, service requests, and asset inventory using ticketing systems. Travel to remote locations as needed for equipment deployment and support. Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support rotations. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree, Technical Institute Degree, or equivalent experience in Information Technology or related field. Minimum 3 years of experience in: Technical Support Help Desk Desktop Support Junior Systems Administration Experience supporting Windows-based enterprise environments. Experience using service desk and ticketing systems. Knowledge of infrastructure documentation and operational procedures. Basic networking and systems administration knowledge. Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills. Technical Skills Systems Administration Windows Server Administration Active Directory User & Group Management Group Policy Administration
