Description Position Summary We are seeking a motivated Jr. Systems Administrator to support the daily operations, maintenance, and reliability of our IT infrastructure. This position will assist with server, storage, virtualization, network, backup, and core infrastructure services. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Active Directory, basic Group Policy, networking, DNS/DHCP, virtualization, system monitoring, backup and recovery , and basic PowerShell. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience with Active Directory user and group management Basic understanding of Group Policy (GPO) Understanding of fundamental networking concepts Basic knowledge of PowerShell Exposure to system and network monitoring tools Familiarity with ticketing/service desk systems Knowledge of backup and recovery processes Strong documentation and SOP development skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities Self-motivated, dependable, and eager to learn Interest in learning and working with cloud platforms , particularly Azure Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Experience Minimum of 3 years of IT experience in a technical support, help desk, desktop support, or junior systems administration role. Familiarity with ticketing systems and IT documentation. Foundational networking knowledge gained through professional experience, educational programs, certifications, or home labs. Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, or network infrastructure is highly desirable. Duties and Responsibilities Participate in infrastructure projects, team meetings, assignments, and initiatives. Support the configuration and administration of virtual servers in VMware and/or Hyper-V environments. Assist with system patching, software updates, and maintenance activities. Monitor system health and assist with troubleshooting infrastructure issues. Maintain and verify backup systems and participate in disaster recovery testing and documentation. Support user and group administration using Active Directory and Group Policy . Assist with configuring and maintaining core services including DNS, DHCP, DFS, and digital certificates . Perform basic network troubleshooting, including diagnosing connectivity issues and identifying configuration problems. Verify switch and port status and assist with network equipment documentation. Assist with monitoring network and system health using departmental monitoring tools. Support the deployment and setup of infrastructure equipment, including switches, access points, and network cabling, under appropriate supervision. Create, maintain, and update technical documentation, procedures, SOPs, system configurations, and troubleshooting guides. Accurately document incidents, service requests, and troubleshooting activities through service desk/ticketing systems. Maintain accurate IT asset and inventory records. Read, understand, and follow departmental policies, procedures, and security requirements. Travel to remote locations as needed to assist with equipment deployment and technical support. Participate in after-hours maintenance activities and an on-call rotation as assigned. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned. Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds . Maintain regular attendance and report to the office five days per week .
