Systems Administrator Position:
A growing and technology-driven organization is seeking a Systems Administrator to play a key role in supporting, optimizing, and securing a complex enterprise IT infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale modernization initiatives, lead critical infrastructure projects, and influence the future direction of the organization's technology environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical expert with deep experience in Microsoft technologies, virtualization, systems security, and enterprise infrastructure. This individual will serve as a seasoned resource within the IT team, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior staff, and driving continuous improvement across systems and operations. Key Responsibilities of the
Systems Administrator:
System Maintenance & Monitoring Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and related hardware/software. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability. Apply patches and updates regularly to maintain system security and stability. Able to Physical rack and stack IT equipment such as Servers, PDUs, Etc. User Support & Administration Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls. Provide technical support and training to staff on IT systems and tools. Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets in a timely manner. Security & Compliance Implement and maintain security protocols, firewalls, and antivirus solutions. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and internal policies. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments. Backup & Disaster Recovery Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans. Test recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity. Office 365 and Azure administration Proficiency with administrative task of Office 365 and configuration. Ability to deploy and maintain cloud services (servers, web applications, etc) Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and usage metrics. Required Qualifications of the
Systems Administrator:
3+ years of progressive Systems Administration experience in a mid-size to enterprise environment. Strong experience administering and supporting VMware virtual environments. Advanced knowledge of Windows Server administration, deployment, hardening, and troubleshooting. Experience managing Microsoft 365 environments, including Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Defender, and Purview. Strong understanding of infrastructure security, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices. Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management. Proven ability to lead infrastructure projects and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications of the
Systems Administrator:
Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid cloud environments. Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls. Experience with endpoint security and EDR platforms such as CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Microsoft Defender. Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell or similar tools. Experience supporting backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
