Associate Systems Administrator & Innovator At ChenTech, we work hard to make small business IT inexpensive, reliable, and understandable. This isn't a help desk role. We offer support to customers, but primarily do so while acting as technical partners to our clients' trained IT liaisons, focusing on resolving pre-triaged issues. We also design innovative IT-solutions that fit our client's wide-ranging needs; ranging from ensuring good WiFi coverage in industrial freezers to enabling offshore connectivity on whale watching ferries. If this sounds interesting, we'd love to hear from you! Who You Are You're someone who loves problem-solving and understanding how technology works at a fundamental level. You set high standards for your work and you're eager to learn new things. You have 1-5 years of experience within Information Technology or a related field, and you're looking for something a bit different in your next role.
The most important qualifications are:
You communicate well with others at all levels of business and enjoy working in a team-oriented and collaborative environment. You have an innovative mindset, are naturally curious and motivated to learn about the inner workings of technology, and you are always striving for improvement. You have a keen eye for detail and you're systematic and tenacious when faced with difficult problems. You don't mind light construction work and physical installations on-site from time to time (with occasional travel, a few trips per year).
You also have:
Experience in at least two of these areas: Server administration (Linux/Windows), network engineering, risk assessment, Windows administration, endpoint and/or network security, DevOps, cloud infrastructure management, identity management, email administration, small business technology administration, database administration, helpdesk, MDM/EMM Experience with a general purpose programming/scripting language for task automation: Python, Ruby, Bash, PowerShell, etc. IT-related certifications are a plus, but not required (e.g. CompTIA, ISC2, AWS, Microsoft, etc). Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
