Job Description

Must Have Technical/Functional Skills 1. 4+ years of experience managing Linux-based edge device fleets. 2. Hands-on experience with fleet management tools like BalenaCloud, balenaCLI, metropolis and container-based deployments 3. Strong experience with Docker containers and Docker Compose 4. CI/CD pipeline implementation using tools such as GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins 5. Container image build, optimization, and deployment practices 6. Version control using Git 7. Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, Debian, Raspberry Pi OS) 8. Device troubleshooting, remote diagnostics, and log analysis 9. Shell scripting (Bash) 10. Network configuration and security for remote edge devices 11. Python for automation, deployment tools, and monitoring 12. API integration and automation scripting Roles & Responsibilities 1. Provision, configure, and onboard edge devices into BalenaCloud fleets. 2. Manage device lifecycle activities including registration, updates, maintenance, and decommissioning. 3. Deploy and monitor containerized applications across distributed edge device fleets. 4. Configure fleet-wide environment variables, device settings, and application releases. 5. Plan and execute OTA (Over-the-Air) software and firmware updates with minimal operational disruption. Generic Managerial Skills, If any 1. Experience integrating edge devices with cloud platforms such as: 2. Azure IoT 3. AWS IoT 4. Google Cloud IoT 5. Understanding of VPNs, firewalls, proxies, and secure communications 6. Familiarity with
MQTT, REST
APIs, WebSockets 7. Air-gapped/offline deployment strategies 8. Kubernetes/K3s at the edge 9. Device security, certificate management, and secure boot 10. Observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) 11. Experience with ARM-based devices (Raspberry Pi, Jetson, etc..)
Salary Range:
$100,000 - $120,000 a year
