The role blends day-to-day helpdesk support with system administration responsibilities across Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, and firewall/security administration. The ideal candidate is a versatile problem-solver who is comfortable moving between frontline support tickets and project work. This role will be a vital contributor to a small team of IT professionals in a shared-services/multi-entity environment supporting several portfolio companies. Responsibilities Resolve helpdesk tickets by troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues Provide timely, professional support to end users primarily in person but also over phone and email Administer Microsoft 365 tenants, including settings, licensing, and services Manage user, group, and device provisioning/deprovisioning in Microsoft Entra ID and on-premise Active Directory Configure and maintain conditional access policies, security groups, and role-based access Administer and troubleshoot Microsoft Teams (channels, policies, meeting/calling configuration) Manage SharePoint Online site structure, permissions, and troubleshoot access/sync issues Administer endpoint security tooling (application control, antivirus/EDR), including policy tuning, alert triage, and exception requests Write and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate account provisioning, reporting, and routine administrative tasks Use command-line tools (PowerShell, CMD) for troubleshooting and system administration Administer the MDM platform for endpoint enrollment, compliance policies, and application deployment Provide basic network administration support: switches, wireless access points, IP addressing/DHCP, DNS Configure, monitor, and maintain firewall rules and policies Set up and support VPN connections for remote users Monitor system health, backups, and performance across the environment Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures Participate in IT projects such as system migrations, upgrades, and rollouts Ensure adherence to IT security policies and best practices
