Job Description

Zerr Berg Architects (ZBA) and Gehrtz Construction Services (GCS) are seeking a full-time System Administrator to support the day-to-day technology needs of both firms. This role is responsible for maintaining the functionality, security, and reliability of our network, servers, end-user workstations, and other IT equipment and systems. The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, service-oriented IT professional with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position is based in Fargo, ND, with occasional travel to surrounding locations as needed. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day technical support to ZBA/GCS employees and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and system-related issues. Install, configure, maintain, and support ZBA/GCS software applications, Microsoft 365, and other technology systems. Administer, maintain, and support servers and network infrastructure. Manage user accounts, permissions, access, onboarding, and offboarding across company systems. Manage IT assets, including computers, peripherals, software, and other technology resources. Research, procure, configure, build, and install computer hardware and peripherals. Set up and maintain remote access capabilities. Monitor and maintain IT security measures, including system updates, antivirus/endpoint protection, access controls, and other cybersecurity safeguards. Maintain and test system backups and assist with disaster recovery and business continuity procedures. Serve as a technical liaison between employees, vendors, and outside IT service providers as needed. Maintain documentation related to IT systems, equipment, configurations, and procedures. Assist with technology planning, upgrades, and implementation of new systems. Provide technical support for projects and other IT-related needs as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field preferred. 2 + years of professional IT experience preferred. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service and end-user support. Strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with employees, vendors, and outside service providers. Technical Proficiency Microsoft Windows operating systems. Microsoft Office Suite and other business productivity applications. Microsoft 365/Office 365 and email systems. Web browsers and common business applications. Computer hardware, peripherals, and workstation configuration. Server administration and network support. Remote access technologies. Backup, antivirus, and security systems. Preferred Skills Experience providing IT help desk or end-user technical support. Experience with computer hardware repair and troubleshooting. Experience supporting Autodesk BIM applications. Experience supporting Adobe applications. Experience in an architecture, engineering, construction, or other professional services environment. Experience with asset management and IT procurement. Experience working with outside IT vendors and service providers.
