Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a Systems Administrator III with advanced IBM WebSphere Application Server administration experience to provide middleware support for critical applications. The role will focus on WebSphere administration, troubleshooting, automation, performance tuning, security, disaster recovery, and collaboration with development, operations, and security teams. Key Responsibilities
- Provide middleware IBM WebSphere System Administration support for critical applications.
- Design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to identify automation opportunities.
- Document automation processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Share knowledge with technical resources and assist with the development of in-house expertise.
- Mentor team members and conduct code reviews.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in automated systems.
- Continuously improve existing automation frameworks for scalability and maintainability.
- Perform WebSphere installations, failover configuration, disaster recovery, security configuration, LTM and junction configuration, certificate management, and performance tuning.
- Support connectivity between WebSphere and MQ, file transfer, and Oracle/SQL database environments.
- Support change management processes and collaborate effectively with customers and technical partners. Required Qualifications
- Advanced knowledge of IBM WebSphere Application Server, including HTTP, Application Server, Java, and Plugin components.
- Experience with WebSphere Application Server versions 8.5.5 and 9 ND Edition.
- Strong troubleshooting, installation, failover, disaster recovery, security configuration, LTM, junctions, certificate management, and performance tuning experience with WebSphere.
- Strong UNIX administration and scripting skills.
- Experience with Shell scripting and Python/Jython.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation solutions using Ansible, Python, and Shell scripting.
- Experience with automation tools such as XL/Deploy.
- Familiarity with MQ, file transfer, and Oracle/SQL database connectivity to WebSphere.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills when working with customers and technical partners.
- Familiarity with change management processes. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WebSphere Liberty.
- Experience with WebSphere MORE.
- Experience with Ansible automation.
- Experience with CI/CD and GitLab.
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Familiarity with Terraform.
