JOIN OUR TEAM BMM
Testlabs is looking for an experienced and motivated IT Systems Administrator to support our North American operations. In this hands-on role, you will help design, implement, operate, secure, and maintain BMM's IT infrastructure, networks, systems, and applications across the United States and Canada. You will work closely with our IT Manager and internal teams to ensure our technology environment is secure, reliable, and performing at its best. We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, takes ownership of issues, communicates well with both technical and non-technical users, and can confidently step up when needed.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Network Administration & Security Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including wireless access points, routers, switches, and firewalls. Maintain network security systems, including IDS/IPS, ACLs, SIEM alerts, and email alerts. Maintain reliable LAN/WAN connectivity, including complex VLAN and VRF environments. Monitor network performance, availability, and reliability. Proactively identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues. Systems & Infrastructure Support the creation and ongoing maintenance of IT infrastructure across BMM offices. Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools. Support internal and client-based applications, servers, and other IT infrastructure. Help ensure high levels of system and infrastructure availability. Identify opportunities to improve the reliability and performance of BMM's IT environment. Security, Backup & Recovery Implement and manage IT security tools, policies, and procedures. Perform regular security monitoring and identify potential security intrusions. Plan and implement system backup and recovery strategies. Periodically test restoration procedures to ensure recoverability. User Support Provide second-level IT support to employees across BMM's U.S. and Canadian operations. Respond to and resolve help desk requests in a timely and professional manner. Educate and train users on IT systems, applications, and software. Documentation & Compliance Create and maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, processes, and procedures. Support compliance with organizational policies and procedures. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend improvements where appropriate.
WHAT YOU BRING
Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 4+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Administrator, or in a similar role. 3+ years of experience working with Microsoft 365 applications. 3+ years of experience managing and maintaining corporate networks. Basic understanding of cloud solutions. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including subnetting, Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and DNS. Professional certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA Network+, or CompTIA Security+ are considered an asset. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of systems, networking software, hardware, protocols, and complex
VLAN/VRF
environments. Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies such as VMware, Hyper-V, and Docker . Experience with Veeam, FortiGate, and Aruba is highly desirable. Experience working with Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python is an asset. Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is an asset. What Will Help You Succeed Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with users at different levels of technical knowledge. Ability to understand user requirements and translate them into appropriate technology recommendations and solutions. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy. Positive, collaborative attitude and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Ability to take ownership, exercise sound judgment, and ensure continuity of IT operations. Capability to step into the IT Manager role during periods of absence, providing operational continuity and day-to-day leadership as required.
