Job Description
MSP System Administrator Shadow Technologies is seeking an experienced System Administrator to join our Managed Services team. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience supporting small to mid-sized business environments and managing a wide range of Microsoft technologies. This role requires excellent troubleshooting skills, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to manage multiple client environments simultaneously. The successful candidate will provide proactive infrastructure support, resolve technical issues, and assist with IT projects while maintaining exceptional service standards. Key Responsibilities Administer and support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Defender. Manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Windows Server environments across multiple client organizations. Provide technical support for desktops, servers, networking, cloud services, and business applications. Monitor client environments using Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) tools to proactively identify and resolve issues. Administer endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and Microsoft security solutions. Configure and support Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and endpoint compliance policies. Perform server installations, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure refresh projects. Configure and troubleshoot virtualization platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V. Manage backup and disaster recovery solutions, including routine testing and recovery validation. Configure and troubleshoot networking equipment, including firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and VLANs. Develop PowerShell scripts and automation to improve operational efficiency and standardize client environments. Maintain detailed documentation for client networks, configurations, procedures, and change management. Participate in on-call support rotations and respond to critical incidents as needed. Collaborate with project engineers to deliver high-quality client solutions. Maintain service level agreements (SLAs) while providing outstanding customer service. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience. Five (5) or more years of experience supporting Microsoft-based business environments, preferably within a Managed Services Provider (MSP). Strong experience administering Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID. Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and hybrid identity. Experience managing Microsoft Intune, Exchange Online, and Microsoft Defender. Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VLANs, VPNs, routing, switching, and firewall administration. Experience supporting virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting and automation. Experience with backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Veeam. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize multiple client issues.
