SERVICE ENGINEER
Building Automation & HVAC Controls Position Summary | The Service Engineer supports our installed customer base by maintaining, troubleshooting, programming, and upgrading building automation and HVAC control systems. This role combines field service, technical problem-solving, customer communication, and clear documentation to keep systems operating reliably and efficiently. Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to customer service requests and provide professional on-site and remote technical support.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose building automation, HVAC control, communications, software, and network-related issues.
  • Program, configure, commission, and modify controllers and supervisory systems to meet sequences of operation and customer requirements.
  • Maintain installed systems at peak performance through preventive maintenance, software maintenance, backups, database reviews, and corrective service.
  • Perform system upgrades, controller replacements, software updates, and integration of new equipment into existing control systems.
  • Develop and modify operator graphics, schedules, alarms, trends, histories, and reports.
  • Test control sequences, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, relays, and other field devices; identify whether issues are controls, mechanical, electrical, or network related.
  • Support common building automation protocols and networks, including BACnet/IP, BACnet MS/TP, Modbus, and Ethernet-based systems.
  • Document service findings, corrective actions, programming changes, and outstanding recommendations in clear service reports.
  • Communicate status, technical findings, and recommended next steps to customers, project managers, technicians, and internal staff.
  • Follow company and site safety requirements while maintaining an organized and professional work area. Required Qualifications
  • Strong computer, troubleshooting, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to understand HVAC equipment and control-system operation.
  • Ability to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, equipment submittals, and sequences of operation.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize service calls, and follow issues through to resolution.
  • Professional customer-service skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Valid, clean driver's license and the ability to travel to customer sites as required.
Pay:
$85,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
