Compensation:
$60-70/hr during contract, converting between $125-165k depending on experience, education, certifications, etc Must-Haves
  • 7+ years of applicable experience supporting Navy C4I or similar DoD mission critical systems
  • Active secret clearance (eligible to upgrade to TS/SCI)
  • Active IAT level II/III certification
  • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems engineering experience
  • IaC (Infrastructure as Code) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation or similar
  • AWS cloud experience Plusses
  • TS/SCI Clearance
  • RHCSA or RHCE certification
  • Cisco networking experience
  • Experience with STIGs, RMF, and vulnerability remediation
  • VMware administration experience
  • Kubernetes or DevSecOps exposure
  • Experience supporting highly classified environments Job Description Forge Forward is seeking a Secret-cleared Linux Systems Engineer to support a large federal contract on base in Charleston, SC.
This position will focus on RHEL systems engineering, automation, cybersecurity compliance, and infrastructure support within a DoD environment. Day to
Day:
  • Administer and troubleshoot RHEL/Linux enterprise environments.
  • Design, secure, and maintain Cisco/Juniper network infrastructure.
  • Automate system provisioning, configuration, and compliance using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, and Python.
  • Support VMware, Windows Server, Active Directory, and hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Implement and maintain DISA STIG, RMF, and DoD cybersecurity compliance requirements.
  • Perform vulnerability remediation, system hardening, and continuous monitoring activities.
  • Support Kubernetes, DevSecOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot network, system, and application performance issues.
  • Participate in testing, deployments, architecture reviews, and change management processes.
  • Create technical documentation and provide engineering support to program leadership.
