Onsite Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Systems Administrator to support the maintenance, security, and organization of our server environment. This position will handle routine server administration while also completing technical discovery projects to identify what is currently hosted, determine what remains in use, and address potential security or data-access concerns. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working independently, and able to clearly document technical findings for future reference. Responsibilities Maintain company-managed servers and ensure operating systems and applications remain current Install security updates and patches in a timely manner Monitor, install, renew, and maintain SSL certificates across company-managed servers Review server contents to identify hosted applications, websites, services, files, and databases Determine which server resources are actively being used and which may be outdated or eligible for removal Identify potential security vulnerabilities, inappropriate permissions, or data-access concerns Research unfamiliar applications, systems, or server configurations as needed Document server configurations, findings, recommendations, and completed work in detail Prepare documentation that can be added to the MRI Wiki and other internal knowledge resources Maintain accurate records of system updates, certificates, applications, and server activity Communicate findings and potential risks to IT leadership Assist with system cleanup, migration, decommissioning, and other infrastructure projects Take ownership of new technical and administrative projects as business needs arise Follow established security, confidentiality, and data-protection procedures Qualifications Experience supporting Windows servers and related IT infrastructure Understanding of server maintenance, operating system updates, and security patching Familiarity with SSL certificates, including installation, renewal, and troubleshooting Ability to review and analyze server contents, applications, services, and access permissions General understanding of cybersecurity, data access, and system vulnerabilities Strong technical research and problem-solving skills Excellent written documentation skills with strong attention to detail Ability to organize findings and explain technical information clearly Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects Ability to handle confidential company and system information appropriately Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in systems administration, server support, or infrastructure support Experience working with Microsoft server environments Familiarity with cloud-based systems or hosted applications Experience creating technical documentation or maintaining an internal knowledge base Experience assisting with server migrations, system audits, or decommissioning projects Work Environment This is an onsite position based at our corporate office in Goose Creek, South Carolina.
