• Our Change Safety Optimization (CSO) team, part of the Infrastructure Engineering & Operations team, ensures that global content-delivery operates at peak efficiency.

We ensure our platform operates safely and reliably while maintaining agility necessary to accommodate changes to meet customer demand/needs. Establish and monitor Key Performance Indicators, safely make configuration changes, and oversee and operate over 350k+ servers in Akamai's global network.

+ Deploying critical software, metadata, network, and platform changes safely, accurately, and efficiently across all global networks.

+ Diagnosing and resolve complex technical issues within your areas of specialty to maintain platform stability. +

Processing & Safety Improvement:

Identify, design, and implement operational process improvements that maximize change safety and operational efficiency. +

Tooling & Documentation:

Continuously improve internal tools, monitoring alerts, operational procedures, and technical documentation. + Working closely with cross-functional teams and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) fostering positive cross-group relationships, isolate software/platform bugs, and long-term technical resolutions.

• To be successful in this role you will: + Have 2+ years of experience administering Linux/Unix systems in large-scale content distributed environments.

+ Possess proven experience in monitoring, administering, and troubleshooting high-availability platform environments.

+ Have Solid understanding of SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Shell).

+ Have good working knowledge of core networking technologies and internet protocols, including TCP/IP, WAN, and DNS.

• Compensation
• Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.

For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $70,500 - $146,500/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
