Job Description
Description Robert Half is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Linux Administrator (contract). In this role, you will be responsible for administering Linux-based systems, supporting storage and virtualization technologies, automating system processes, and ensuring platform reliability, performance, and security. This role is onsite in Austin, Tx.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Install, configure, maintain, and support enterprise Linux server environments.
+ Manage system performance, reliability, security controls, and platform availability.
+ Support infrastructure technologies including storage systems, virtualization platforms, and related services.
+ Develop and maintain automation solutions for system administration, monitoring, maintenance, and backup processes.
+ Perform system upgrades, patching, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis across production environments.
+ Monitor operating systems, hardware, networking, and I/O performance to ensure optimal system operation.
+ Research, recommend, and implement infrastructure improvements and system enhancements.
+ Collaborate with technical teams to resolve complex infrastructure issues and support business initiatives.
+ Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Requirements Required Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of experience administering Linux-based enterprise environments.
+ Strong experience with Linux systems administration, security management, user account administration, and shell scripting.
+ Experience developing automation solutions using scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, or similar technologies.
+ Knowledge of server, storage, virtualization, networking, and client-server architectures.
+ Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
+ Experience supporting system installations, upgrades, maintenance, and performance tuning.
+ Ability to independently research technical issues and implement effective solutions.
+ Strong communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
+ Must be authorized to work in the United States.
+ Ability to work onsite periodically and participate in scheduled on-call support rotations.
