Parking Guidance Systems (PGS) is a dynamic technology company committed to providing the highest quality equipment and service in the parking industry. PGS is most recognized in major airports, hospitals, universities, retail centers, and municipalities by its dynamic directional signage and the red and green LED indicator lights over every parking space. All devices used are low voltage and operate on either Ethernet or
RS485/422
networks. About the Role We're looking for an IT System Administrator in Richmond, TX area who will maintain, support, and optimize the organization's IT, software, and network systems. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to support end-users effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintenance software, and network systems. Monitor and maintain systems running on servers to ensure optimal performance. Implement and maintain IT security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and patch management. Assist in deploying and supporting enterprise applications and cloud services. Monitor system performance and perform routine backups to ensure data integrity. Write and maintain scripts or programs to automate tasks and improve system efficiency. Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for future reference. Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend improvements to IT systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on IT experience. Proven experience in IT support, network administration, or systems administration. Strong knowledge of Windows, macOS, and/or Linux operating systems. Familiarity with networking protocols, VPNs, firewalls, and switches. Experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus. Medium coding/programming skills to create scripts or simple applications (e.g., Python, PowerShell, JavaScript). Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
