Supervisory Leadership:
Proven ability to lead, mentor and evaluate a diverse workforce, providing clear direction and sound decision-making under stressful conditions, including planning and scheduling work activities.Technical Troubleshooting and Repair:
Proficient in diagnosing, repairing and installing various traffic signals or ITS. Demonstrated ability to interpret contract plans and blueprints for use in the field.Installation and Construction:
Thorough understanding of work zone traffic control and NEC codes and requirements. Working knowledge of serial and Ethernet communications configuration within Windows operating system. Thorough understanding of traffic signals timing and detection configuration.Administrative and Project Coordination:
Skills to review contract plans to verify traffic devices that can be constructed, provide recommendations for design, signal, traffic operations, and construction engineers. Skilled in maintaining accurate records, managing inventory and procurement of parts and equipment.Safety Awareness and Leadership:
Experience prioritizing and promoting a safety-first culture, strong knowledge of workplace safety standards, with consistently applied safe work practices.Effective Communication:
Skills to prepare clear written correspondence and reports.Growth Mindset:
Actively demonstrates a commitment to learning and growth.Service-Oriented:
Takes action to meet the needs of others. The following qualifications are also required: Class A or B no restrictions CDL, for standard shift and automatic shift vehicles or the ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire. Ability to move freely and navigate climbing stairs, ladders, inclines, uneven surfaces, and heights exceeding 100 feet over live traffic or above water on bridges. Ability to maneuver and transport various materials and/or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to distinguish colors for electrical and electronic maintenance and repair work. Ability to work after hours at night and weekends for scheduled and emergency situations. It is preferred that qualified candidates also have:Supervision & Mentorship:
Demonstrated ability to supervise, mentor, and develop crew members, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and fostering a safe, collaborative, and productive work environment.Electrical & Electronic Systems Experience:
Demonstrated experience performing installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical and electronic transportation systems, such as traffic signals, lighting, and ITS. In addition to the preferred competencies above, the following are also preferred: A valid flagger certification and demonstrated ability to apply traffic control and work zone safety practices in operational settings. A valid journeyman-level electrician license (EL01) or equivalent (AD01 or ME01), with the ability to apply electrical codes, standards, and best practices to installation, maintenance, and repair activities. An IMSA certification as a Traffic Signal Technician and Traffic Signal Electronics Technician, demonstrating expertise in traffic signal systems installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. In addition to base salary, employees may be entitled to other forms of compensation depending on the type, duties, or location of the position.
