Since 1984, the company has specialized in designing and delivering customized security systems, including burglary alarms, fire alarms, access control, and CCTV surveillance for residential and commercial clients. Our commitment to excellence is supported by our FM-approved, UL-certified, NYFD-approved, and IQ-certified central monitoring station. Position Overview We need a In-House Security System Technician to support our clients and field teams from the office. You will troubleshoot, configure, and program IP cameras, network video recorders (NVRs), and video management systems (VMS) remotely. You will solve technical problems over the phone, via remote desktop, and through our support software.
Key Responsibilities Remote Programming:
Set up and configure IP cameras, encoders, and NVRs before or after field installation.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and fix camera feed issues, connection drops, recording failures, and software errors remotely.
Client Support:
Help customers and field technicians resolve technical problems via phone, email, and chat.
Network Integration:
Check network settings, port forwarding, IP addresses, and bandwidth requirements for security systems.
System Updates:
Install firmware updates and security patches for all connected devices.
Documentation:
Keep detailed records of all support tickets, system changes, and customer resolutions.
Qualifications Experience:
1 to 3 years working with security cameras, CCTV, or low-voltage alarm systems.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of IP networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, port forwarding) and video management software.
Communication:
Clear verbal and written skills to guide non-technical users through basic fixes.
Problem-Solving:
Ability to analyze error codes, test network paths, and isolate hardware versus software issues.
Education:
High school diploma; associate degree in IT, electronics, or a related field is a plus.
Pay:
$28.00 - $35.00 per hour
