Workstation Support Technician Job Type:
Contract, 1 year
Location:
On-Site, Jacksonville, FL 32224
Schedule:
May require overtime and on-call participation Job Summary We are seeking a Workstation Support Technician to provide hands-on break/fix, troubleshooting, installation, and customer support for end-user technology. This position will focus primarily on PCs, workstations, printers, and related hardware/software , working directly with customers and other IT support teams to resolve technical issues and complete equipment installations or relocations. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience , strong troubleshooting abilities, solid workstation knowledge, and excellent customer service skills. Key Responsibilities Troubleshoot and perform break/fix support for workstations, PCs, printers, and related endpoint equipment . Install, configure, relocate, and repair computer equipment at customer locations. Ensure equipment is properly labeled and documented according to established standards. Research, verify, and document device specifications and equipment information. Work with internal service and business units to coordinate equipment installations and relocations. Provide on-site technical support and customer service for installation and repair requests. Serve as a technical liaison between field support and other IT teams, including Help Desk, Applications, Materials Management, and IT Infrastructure. Assist end users with basic hardware and software training and explain technical concepts and procedures. Explain the potential impact of hardware/software changes, equipment moves, and break/fix solutions to customers. Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and replacement parts required for installations and repairs. Collaborate with other IT Infrastructure teams to manage parts and equipment inventory. Evaluate and process equipment in accordance with IT security policies and guidelines. Accurately document work using ticket tracking software and related tools. Prioritize and accommodate special projects, high-priority requests, and changing workloads. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer and organizational information. Work independently while also collaborating effectively with other technical teams. Participate in overtime and on-call support as needed. Required Qualifications High School Diploma. Valid driver's license. At least 2 years of relevant experience. Strong break/fix and troubleshooting experience with endpoints , including PCs, workstations, and printers. Hands-on workstation support experience . Strong customer service skills. Experience using ticket tracking software and related documentation tools. Understanding of computer and networking terminology, including: CPU Internet Networking Client/Server LAN/WAN Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle customer information appropriately. Flexibility to support special projects, high-priority requests, and changing workloads. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field; OR Two years of technical school training in Computers, Technology, Electronics, or a related field; OR Two years of customer service experience supporting computers. Physical Requirements This position requires the ability to: Bend, stoop, kneel, and squat as needed. Work with arms above shoulder level. Lift 75 pounds or more . Distinguish colors. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on workstation/desktop support technician who is comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software issues in the field. Strong PC, printer, endpoint, break/fix, ticketing, and customer service experience is essential. #AJ1

From $21.50 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
