Summary:
Join our dynamic IT team as a Desktop Support Technician, where you will play a pivotal role in configuring and installing software for IT users' desktops and laptops. This entry-level position involves supporting the rollout of new software packages and desktop hardware, maintaining existing technology, and ensuring our mobile workforce has the tools they need to succeed. Your strong customer service skills will be crucial as you provide Tier 2 support and assist with troubleshooting, documentation, and end-user training.
Responsibilities:
Configure and install software on desktops and laptops for IT users. Assist in the installation and rollout of new software packages and desktop hardware upgrades. Maintain desktop software and hardware; support mobile workforce needs. Provide Tier 2 support for basic software and hardware issues related to end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems. Troubleshoot problems using provided scripts and checklists, escalating to Tier 3 support when needed. Document problems and resolutions for future reference. Participate in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implement prototypes. Deliver end-user training as necessary. Coordinate with project teams and follow documented procedures and checklists.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, technical institute degree/certificate, or equivalent work experience. 0 to 1 year of IT work experience, with a working knowledge of basic hardware and software products and troubleshooting skills. Strong customer service skills are essential. Ability to function independently under the direction of a senior technician or supervisor/manager. Experience in maintaining and supporting client products, peripherals, network, and handling physical moves is a plus.
