DC Tech L2 Technician 6 Months assignment Reno, NV 89501 Onsite Top 3 skills required for this role: Data Centre hands-on experience in rack and stack, cabling, configuration of ILO, IDRAC, replacement of RAM, CPU, etc. Knowledge basic admin of Operating system (Windows or Linux )
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Collaborate with network administrators to resolve server-related issues, including cable replacement or re-routing, optics replacement on server and switch ports, and installation of upgraded hardware components. Temporarily rack, stack, and cable servers or switches to enable remote access by network administrators for configuration and validation activities. Provide hands-on support to network administrators for ad hoc requests involving servers or network switches. Coordinate procurement of replacement components, install the parts, and manage return shipment of defective hardware to the respective vendors. Perform cabling of the server/network device in accordance with approved wiring diagrams and coordinate with network administrators to validate connectivity and operational readiness. Diagnose and troubleshoot server issues to identify and isolate root causes with the help of remote network or sys admins. Perform server firmware upgrades to ensure systems are running on the latest approved versions. Configure server IP addresses and default access credentials in accordance with standard procedures. Conduct physical inspections as requested or audits of servers, components, and consumables to ensure equipment inventory accuracy.
