Function of Position:
Federal Work Study student employees will support CNS staff in maintaining and organizing campus technology equipment. This includes assisting with the cleaning, moving, installation, labeling, and inventory of computers and peripherals, updating records, and helping technicians with basic setup and deployment tasks. Students will work alongside IT staff to complete assigned tasks and learn standard support procedures. This position may be funded through Federal Work Study (FWS) and/or departmental budgetary funds, depending on eligibility and departmental need. Federal Work Study applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to employment consideration. If you are unsure of your FWS eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying. Applicants must include their M# in any correspondence with the Financial Aid Office.Examples of Duties & Responsibilities:
Support Communications and Network Services (CNS) in the installation and maintenance of desktop and laptop computers and related accessories across MCC locations Assist with organizational and record-keeping tasks within the department Work alongside technicians and specialists to complete assigned tasks and receive guidance as needed Help with cleaning, moving, sorting, and labeling equipment Update and maintain equipment and inventory records Contribute to the efficient operation of technology support services in offices, classrooms, and labsMCC Expectations:

Ability to work independently and take initiative Must be currently enrolled as a student at Monroe Community College Must maintain satisfactory academic progress and be in good academic standing Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS-funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire)Preferred Qualifications:
Interest in or familiarity with computers and information technology is preferred Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficientlyAdditional Information:
