Duties Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure optimal performance and security. Support and troubleshoot LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) connections to guarantee reliable data transmission. Implement and manage network protocols such as
TCP/IP, OSPF
(Open Shortest Path First), EIGRP (Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol), BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), and EIGRP for efficient routing. Conduct network security assessments utilizing tools like Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine), IDS (Intrusion Detection System), firewall configurations, PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), and vulnerability scans to safeguard organizational data. Perform system troubleshooting and network support activities including system hardening, network monitoring with SolarWinds or PRTG, and remote access software management to resolve issues swiftly. Assist in the deployment of open-source operating systems such as Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, Fedora, openSUSE, and Solaris for network servers and appliances. Support virtualization platforms like VMware and Citrix to optimize resource utilization and high availability across systems. Requirements Proven experience with computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN design, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP), VLANs, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN configuration, and network switching. Strong knowledge of network hardware support including Cisco routers/switches/ASA firewalls, Meraki devices, SAN (Storage Area Network), RAID controllers, load balancers, and MPLS networks. Familiarity with network security practices such as SSO (Single Sign-On), SSL/TLS encryption protocols, system hardening techniques, GPO (Group Policy Objects), LDAP integration, and vulnerability assessment tools like Splunk or SolarWinds. Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell or Shell Scripting for automation tasks; knowledge of APIs for system integration is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues involving operating systems like Windows Server or various Linux distributions while supporting high availability environments. Excellent communication skills with the ability to document procedures clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams on IT infrastructure projects. Relevant certifications such as Cisco
CCNA/CCNP/CCIE
are highly desirable; a background in computer science or related IT fields is preferred.
