Job Description
Information Technology (IT) Technician School District of Altoona | Full-Time | 12-Month Position The School District of Altoona is seeking a full-time Information Technology (IT) Technician to join our technology team. This position supports the reliable operation of the district's technology systems used by students, teachers, and staff every day. The IT Technician works closely with the Director of Future Ready Learning and the IT Systems Administrator to maintain and support district technology including computers, networks, software, and classroom technology systems. This role also collaborates with members of the district technology team, including Technology Coaches and Library Services staff, to ensure technology supports effective teaching, learning, and operations. This position regularly interacts with staff, students, and vendors and plays an important role in delivering responsive, customer-focused technology support across the district.

- Associate degree or higher in Networking or Computer Technologies, preferred.
- Experience in a school setting, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of most current Windows OS and iOS, and appropriate application software in a network environment.
- Support experience working with a Windows Server Domain and Active Directory preferred.
- Ability to monitor, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair software/hardware issues and complete the necessary follow‐up steps in an educational environment.
- Create software images and packages.
