A Product Owner is a member of the product development team who writes user stories and defines the tasks needed for engineers to work using the Agile Development Framework.
The organization is seeking a Senior Product Owner with deep, hands-on experience working within a Scrum-based software development environment. This role is suited for a seasoned practitioner with years of experience embedded with development teams, owning and managing backlogs, writing high-quality user stories, and guiding delivery through disciplined Agile execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and actively manage one or more product backlogs for Scrum teams Write clear, well-structured user stories with explicit acceptance criteria Continuously refine, prioritize, and groom the backlog to ensure sprint readiness Serve as the single point of accountability for backlog prioritization and scope decisions Work day-to-day with engineers, QA, UX, and Scrum Masters Lead and participate in backlog refinement sessions, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives Translate business goals and stakeholder needs into development-ready work Support AI-assisted development workflows while maintaining quality Coach and mentor junior
Product Owners Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience as a Product Owner in Scrum teams Experience in a professional software development shop Strong Agile and Scrum knowledge grounded in real delivery Expertise in user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog management Experience working with AI tools and AI-assisted coding environments Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Experience using Agile tooling (e.g., Jira or equivalent) to manage backlogs and sprints Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to say "no" or "not now" and explain trade-offs clearly Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with engineers and earn their trust Scrum master experience is a plus Preferred Qualifications Experience with AI agents in development Analytics or data-intensive systems experience CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent certification Experience inheriting and improving an existing backlog or delivery process
Pay:
$100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
