Job Summary:
Are you passionate about engineering, problem-solving, and collaborating with customers to deliver exceptional results? Kawneer is seeking an Application Engineer I to provide expert technical support and engineering guidance throughout the project lifecycle. In this role, you'll work alongside customers, sales professionals, and internal teams to evaluate designs, ensure building code compliance, perform structural analyses, review plans and specifications, and develop customized solutions for complex applications. This is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact by helping customers achieve their vision while contributing to Kawneer's reputation as an industry leader in architectural systems and innovation. In this role, you will: Work with customers, sales, architects, and general contractors to provide design solutions using existing and custom products. Work with estimators to provide design solutions using existing and custom products. Coordinate blast application needs with outside vendors. Perform basic structural analysis using commercial software such as RISA, C-Beam, and other in-house tools. Perform application reviews for architect and customer support, Interacts with customers, architects, and consultants. Proactively look for solutions for projects that exceed customer expectations. Understand overall plan needs and accepts accountability for the projects that are expected to meet/exceed the land in area of responsibility. Timely and accurately respond to customer needs. Use time management skills to meet release deadlines. Offer department improvements to reduce claims and improve efficiency of services.
You have:
(required) Associate degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering field. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans and installation instructions. Strong mathematical skills to conduct structural analysis. Construction/architectural industry background knowledge. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Exceptional Candidates also have:
(preferred) Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering field. Working towards obtaining a Professional Engineering License. Knowledge of Kawneer products.
Essential Knowledge & Skills:
Exceptional communication skills (Verbal and Written).
Proficient computer skills:
Microsoft Office Suite (including Outlook and Excel), AutoCad, and Kalucad. The position requires practical and intuitive knowledge of commercial design and construction processes. The ability to work and think independently, while managing within a project team environment. Understand other trades and investigate usage if needed. Flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances. Must be self-motivated, people-oriented, service-oriented, and possess the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment. Problem solving/mathematical skills required to conduct structural analysis. Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to function in an environment with tight deadlines while maintaining outstanding attention to detail. A strong professional image, ethical standards, integrity, objectivity, confidence, and dedication to internal and external customers.
